Sarah Chalke

Sarah Chalke was born on 27 August 1976 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Her parents are Angie Chalke and Doug Chalke. Sarah is the middle child. She has one older sister Natasha Chalke and one younger sister, Piper Chalke. Sarah began her acting career in a made-for-TV film, City Boy (1992). In 1993, shortly after her first film, she was a candidate for the role of "Becky" in the TV show Roseanne (1988). After Alicia Goranson left the show to attend college the show was searching for the perfect replacement. Sarah graduated from highschool in 1995. She was also involved in the making of Roseanne (1988), 1994-1995. Sarah also starred alongside Jim Varney (1994) in Ernest Goes to School (1994). In 1996, Sarah was a part-time actress in two films: Robin of Locksley (1996) and Stand Against Fear (1996) in which she played an actress called Krista Wilson. Sarah was invited to be a part in the 1998 show Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy. It was a year following Roseanne (1988). Based on the show Nothing Too Good For a Cowboy (1998) on which the show also had a basis. Sarah replaced Becky's (1988) role from Alicia Goranson. It was stated that she would like to take a break from acting and go to college. [2001] (1993-1997) She played Sara Gilbert's older sibling on Roseanne (1988), however, she is actually younger. Participated in the 1999 CCMA Award Ceremony where she received an award for the best single of 1999. In September of 1999, appeared in local Vancouver performances of the theater, at age 8. Fluent in French and German. She helps out at a hospice , where children with terminal illnesses are treated . She also volunteers with the Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund. Chalke loves cooking with friends (especially Thai or sushi) as well as play guitar as well as go on hikes, ski (she's an instructor), and kayaking. Her father is a lawyer, and both of her parents are mediators. They also operate a child adoption agency. In the past she traveled with her parents to China to oversee the adoption of several orphans in China.
